En tenant la bouteille de Penderyn Madeira Finish, j'ai expliqué à Charlie "c'est un whisky single malt, mais il ne vient pas d'Ecosse. Ça vient du Pays de Galles, d'où Richard Burton était originaire et où ils aiment beaucoup utiliser la lettre "y"". Charlie s'est réchauffé à cela. "Comme dans le nom Gwyneth" dit-il, ravi de la découverte. Il est fabriqué dans un alambic spécialement construit qui nettoie le whisky au fur et à mesure de sa fabrication pour fournir davantage d'éléments fruités dans le distillat. L'eau qu'ils utilisent provient des Brecon Beacons, une source d'eau aussi pure que jamais. Il est d'abord vieilli dans des fûts ex-bourbon de premier remplissage (cela a pris un certain temps pour expliquer pourquoi c'était idéal) et il a ensuite mûri une seconde fois, ou "fini" dans des fûts ex-Madiera.
Charlie, pour une raison quelconque, était un expert du vin de Madère et a débité toutes les saveurs élégantes qu'on peut y trouver. Je l'ai accompagné dans l'appréciation de la teinte or jaune puis dans le nez sur la façon de tenir le liquide succulent longtemps dans sa bouche avant de l'avaler pour lui permettre de révéler toute sa complexité.

Returns and Refunds
