En 1971, en Écosse, quelque 40 distilleries différentes de whiskies de malt et de grain étaient occupées à fabriquer les spiritueux qui finiraient par faire partie de cet assemblage vraiment exceptionnel . Ce whisky de 1971 peut être classé comme un mélange "triple mûri" : après avoir été assemblé pour la première fois en 1983 pour un Premium 12 ans, une réserve de liquide a été remplie dans des ex-Oloroso Sherry Butts. Après neuf années supplémentaires de vieillissement, une petite proportion a été remplie une fois de plus, cette fois dans d'anciens fûts de chêne américain. Il s'en est suivi une maturation finale de 24 ans dans un ancien entrepôt de fardage traditionnel avant d'embouteiller le whisky, à son apogée, à l'âge de 45 ans.
Il suffit de goûter une goutte pour être enveloppé dans la complexité harmonieuse de ce whisky d'exception, mais une goutte ne suffit certainement pas à dévoiler tout

KEN GARGETT, QUILL & TIME : Alors, quelle est la qualité du blended Scotch whisky Last Drop 1971 ? Certains grands spiritueux sont sûrement destinés à être ivres - sirotés avec révérence - à genoux. C'est l'un d'eux. raisins secs, raisins secs, fruits confits; il est toujours incroyablement frais et vibrant, mais incroyablement complexe. La marque de fabrique de cet esprit est cependant sa grande longueur. La longueur a plus en commun avec l'un des merveilleux vieux muscats Rutherglen. C'est d'une longueur époustouflante et l'intensité ne faiblit pas un instant.
Plus de saveurs se déploient en bouche : fruits à noyau, figues, zeste d'orange et même fleurs. La texture offre un peu de feu et de puissance. C'est de la décadence dans un verre.

Returns and Refunds
