Laphroaig 28 ans est l'entrée 2018 de la série annuelle en édition limitée de Laphroaig, et est l'une des plus anciennes sorties de la distillerie à ce jour. C'est un mélange de fûts soigneusement sélectionnés, réunissant des quarter casks, des ex-fûts de bourbon et des fûts de sherry oloroso. Il a acquis la réputation d'être le meilleur de la série à ce jour, combinant le caractère de fumée médicinale de la distillerie avec le fruité que montrent bon nombre de ses bouteilles plus anciennes.
Cette version particulière a été tirée d'une gamme de fûts de 27 ans qui ont été mis en cuve ensemble et finis dans des fûts de sherry pendant une autre année avant la mise en bouteille. The Spirits Business rapporte que le mélange initial comprenait des fûts de différentes tailles, y compris des quarter casks.
Notes de dégustation Laphroaig 28 ans :
Couleur : Laiton antique
Arôme : sans surprise, vous pouvez sentir celui-ci à un kilomètre de distance. Étonnamment, ce sont les herbes, et non la tourbe, qui frappent en premier. Le thym, la menthe, l'origan et les graines de cumin attirent l'attention sur la ligne de départ, suivis de notes fumées de camphre, de thé fumé au pin, de pommade aux herbes et de bandages. Les bouts de côtes brûlés et l'écorce de barbecue font également leur apparition, ainsi qu'une légère note de pêche grillée juteuse.
Bouche : plutôt douce au début, avec des notes fruitées de pomme verte aldéhydée et des morceaux de raisin presque blanc évoluant vers un panache de fumée résineuse et aromatique. Il y a du pull mouillé, de la lanoline, du sherry fino et des amandes.
Finition : réchauffante - vous le sentez vraiment dans votre poitrine - mais aussi douce et ronde, avec une longue finale aromatique Vicks Vapo-Rub.

Returns and Refunds
