Le Bunnahabhain, âgé de 12 ans, est un représentant essentiel des single malts d'Islay en raison de l'absence quasi totale de tourbe dans ce que nous pourrions appeler son "profil de saveur". C'est le goût des single malts d'Islay sans le brouillard parfois obscur de tourbe pour lequel les malts d'Ileach sont célèbres. "Ileach" est la forme adjectivale de "Islay". Tu vois? Comment quelqu'un aurait-il deviné cela ?
Goûtez-y.
Il y a un soupçon de fumée, seulement le moindre soupçon, suivi d'un délicieux goût de noisette et de l'encens de la lumière... pourrait-il être... du kiwi ? Une certaine influence du sherry de son temps en fût et une légère saveur salée. Une touche d'herbes et de miel. Doux malt et une pointe d'épices.
Sans aucun doute, la fraîcheur de ce goût, sa distinction inhabituelle par rapport aux autres malts d'Islay, est liée à quelque chose que les scientifiques écossais de Bunnahabhain appellent "Un-Chill-Filtration". Vous voyez, Bunnahabhain, contrairement à la plupart des autres scotchs qui nécessitent un filtrage à froid pour maîtriser les éléments les plus nocifs de leurs profils de saveur, vous arrive avec son goût et sa couleur d'origine intacts.
