Uncharted Braeval 10 Year “Higher Ground” is a bold Speyside single malt born at Scotland’s highest distillery, Braeval, perched in the quiet village of Chapeltown near Ballindalloch. Distilled in August 2014 and matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso sherry casks for a full decade, this expression celebrates the highland lightness of Braeval’s delicate spirit while diving deep into the richness of Spanish sherry wood. Bottled in April 2025 at a cask strength of 55%, it’s a whisky with power, elegance, and no filtration, no color manipulation, and absolutely no peat.
The nose is a full-on sherry bomb, opening with layers of bright fruit, sticky toffee pudding, and warm butterscotch. On the palate, it’s indulgent and smooth, with sticky dates, cinnamon pastry, and creamy melted vanilla ice cream unfolding into a spiced clootie dumpling character. That natural richness is underpinned by the tall, slender stills that give Braeval its signature light body—making it a favored component in blends like Chivas, yet here shown in its purest, most expressive form.
The finish is slow and satisfying, with a lingering sweetness of butterscotch that gives way to gentle oak and a soft, warming blend of spices. This limited release—only 612 bottles—offers a rare glimpse into a distillery most often hidden inside blends. Uncharted’s single cask approach reveals the true character of the malt: full-bodied, unrepeatable, and crafted for those who seek out flavor over familiarity.

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?
Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

Please allow 1–2 business days for processing. During high-volume periods, such as holidays, processing may take up to 5 business days.

Saver shipping (where available) may take 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, with delivery typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

Carriers will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

Additional delivery attempts may require an extra delivery fee.

Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and all shipping charges.
4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?
Yes. Many of our products are fragile and heat-sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at our discretion.

Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.
