The Pigeon River Covered Bridge (also known as the McNutt?s, East Fork and Harrisburg Covered Bridge) is the oldest standing covered bridge in Tennessee. Located in Sevierville, it was an access point for the town which was known for craftsmen like Mill Builders in the 1800s. ÿ

The bridge was built in 1875 by Elbert Stephenson Early, who owned the nearby Newport Mill, one of many mills in the area. ÿThe mills processed corn for local farmers, much of which ended up as the key ingredient for their quietly produced whiskey.

This remote area in the Smoky Mountains, provided the perfect seclusion from Whiskey Tax Collectors in the 1800s and prohibition enforcers in the early 20th century.

Pigeon River Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey is made from a corn-heavy mash bill and a hint of malted barley, a mash bill that would have been commonly found in Eastern Tennessee in the 1800s.

Bottled at 96 Proof,ÿPigeon River Tennessee Whiskey has been expertly mellowed through the Lincoln County Process of undergoing charcoal filtration before it is aged, and then aged to deliver a smooth and balanced flavor.

Pigeon River Tennessee Whiskey Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Sweet breakfast notes of cinnamon bun, vanilla yogurt, rice pudding, and Special K with freeze-dried strawberries

Palate: fruity and well-spiced, with good depth of flavor; chicory coffee, peanut butter chips, and with water, chocolate-covered peanuts.

Finish: flavorful but short finish brings hay, straw, cocoa, and spice.

This shows personality and consistency, perhaps grain-forward at times but not without dimension.

ForWhiskeyLovers.com Shipping & Returns FAQ

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?

Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

  • Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday only.

  • Please allow 1–2 business days for processing. During high-volume periods, such as holidays, processing may take up to 5 business days.

  • Saver shipping (where available) may take 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, with delivery typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.

  • Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the carriers.

  • We are unable to guarantee specific delivery dates.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

  • Carriers will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

  • Additional delivery attempts may require an extra delivery fee.

  • Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and all shipping charges.

4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?

Yes. Many of our products are fragile and heat-sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at our discretion.

  • ForWhiskeyLovers.com is not responsible for damage caused by extreme weather once packages are in the hands of ground couriers.

5. Can you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, or freight forwarders?

No. We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes, Army Post Offices (APO), Fleet Post Offices (FPO), or freight forwarding companies.

  • Additional shipping fees may apply for special packaging requests.

7. What is your return policy?

Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.

  • If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, we will refund or replace it. Please email hello@forwhiskeylovers.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.

  • All bottles are inspected before shipping.

  • Website images are for illustration purposes only. Product editions, batches, or packaging may vary unless specifically stated in the description.

  • Engraved or personalized bottles are non-refundable unless damaged. If returned after failed delivery attempts, refunds will not be issued, and customers will incur return shipping fees.
