In 1794 Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist Paper #12 that a tax on whiskey ?should tend to diminish the consumption of it?, and that ?such an effect would be equally favorable to the agriculture, to the economy, to the morals, and to the health of the society.? During the Whiskey Rebellion that followed, tax collectors would be tarred, whipped, and feathered.
Not a King Whiskey is a nod back to George Washington?s original rye whiskey recipe. Rye takes center stage with corn serving as the secondary grain in the mash bill. At first pour, notes of honey explode from the glass and a creamy, buttery body coats the tongue. As the whiskey opens up on the palate, flavors of stone, fruit, orange peel and apricot shine. The finish is long and sweet with a subtle smokiness.
Tasting Notes*:
Color: cinnamon color; very good clarity.
Aroma: a keen spiciness in the first nosing pass that evolves into seeded (caraway) rye bread and new saddle leather; more aeration helps to develop deeper fragrances of rye snack cracker (Ryvita), rye bread, ground black pepper.
Taste: sweeter, more sap-like and resiny than the bouquet and turns stunningly maple-like right before the midpalate stage; midpalate is caramelized, succulent, toasted, maple all over the place and fabulously tasty.
Finish: long, resiny / oaky, rich in texture, a little spiky alcohol-wise, but luscious and creamy. A pinnacle achievement for this Michigan distiller.?ÿ

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?
Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.
2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday only.

Please allow 1–2 business days for processing. During high-volume periods, such as holidays, processing may take up to 5 business days.

Saver shipping (where available) may take 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, with delivery typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.

Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the carriers.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

Carriers will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

Additional delivery attempts may require an extra delivery fee.

Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and all shipping charges.
4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?
Yes. Many of our products are fragile and heat-sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at our discretion.

6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?
Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.

7. What is your return policy?
Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.
