Amrut Fusion Single Malt Indian Whisky is a renowned whisky produced by Amrut Distilleries, a distillery based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Here are some key details about Amrut Fusion:
- Single Malt: Amrut Fusion is a single malt whisky, which means it is made exclusively from malted barley at a single distillery. This is a notable characteristic as many Indian whiskies are blended.
- Ingredients: One of the distinctive features of Amrut Fusion is the blend of Indian and Scottish barley used in its production. The fusion of these two types of barley is where the name "Fusion" comes from. The Scottish barley is peated, adding a smoky character to the whisky.
- Distillation and Maturation: The whisky is distilled and matured in oak barrels, contributing to its flavor profile. The climate in Bangalore, with its relatively high temperatures and humidity, accelerates the maturation process compared to more traditional whisky-producing regions.
- Flavor Profile: Amrut Fusion is known for its complex flavor profile. It often exhibits a balance of sweetness, fruitiness, spiciness, and a subtle peat smoke. Tasting notes may include elements of tropical fruits, vanilla, caramel, and a hint of spices.
- Awards: Amrut Fusion has received numerous awards and accolades for its quality and uniqueness. It has gained recognition on the international stage, contributing to the growing reputation of Indian single malt whiskies.
