Highland Park, Macallan, & Balvenie Bundle
Available through October or while supplies last, this bundleÿis a classic collection of scotches valued at $239.97.
Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 4 Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($94.99):ÿTheÿfourth release has been matured predominantly in first-fill sherry seasoned European oak casks, along with first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks, a small quantity of refill casks, ex-bourbon casks and ? for the first time ? ex-port casks too. Bottled straight from the cask, without the addition of water to reduce alcohol content, our Cask Strength series marries the traditional craft of whisky making with a modern approach to flavour exploration.
The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($79.99):ÿMacallan Double Cask 12 Years Old is 100% Sherry-seasoned and 100% natural color but unique in the unmistakable prominence of its American oak style. Macallan brings new oak from America across thousands of miles to Spain, where casks are crafted and Sherry-seasoned before traveling to the distillery in Speyside, where they are filled and matured for at least 12 years. These whiskies are then harmoniously united with those aged in exceptional Sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The delicate flavor of American oak ? vanilla, citrus and light oak ? rises in prominence as the traditional Macallan European oak character of dried fruit and wood spice affords a familiar backdrop,
The result is a fresh and approachable style of Macallan, rich in flavor, honeyed and indulgent, with a fantastic viscous mouth feel.
The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($62.99):ÿThe Balvenie 12 Year Old Double woodÿis one of their most popular creations. First launched in 1993 by the one and only David Stewart, this dram was quite the revolution back in the day, using theÿ'wood finishing' processÿStewart designed in 1982 ? double wood. So, what's it all about? First, the brown stuff spends at least 12 years in traditionalÿex-Bourbon barrels,ÿthen, it's moved toÿex-Oloroso Sherry casksÿfor another 9 months. Finally, individual casks are "married"ÿin large tuns for 3-4 months. Bottled at 80 proof on site, this beauty is soft and delicate but full of depth and flavor at the same time.
