The inspiration for High Wests Campfire Whiskey came to then distillery owner Jim Perkins one morning at the Bruichladdich distillery B&B, when he and his wife smelled peat in the air - the great ladies that madeÿtheir meals were simmering a bottle of peated whiskey and sugar! Later that night, they brought out dessert of ripe honeydew drizzled with the peated syrup. It was the most unusual, delicious and memorable ending to a dinner Perkins ever experienced.
The combination of melon and sweet smoke really worked - so (naturally...) he thought why not mix sweet bourbon and peat? The main flavor (or melody) is sweet honey from a ripe bourbon. The enhancing flavor (or harmony) is floral fruity spice from a mature rye whiskey. The accent (Satchmo?s gravelly voice!) is the smoke from a peated scotch whisky.
Technical Details
Sweet:ÿA straight bourbon whiskey from 75 percent corn, 20 percent rye, and 5 percent barley malt.
Spicy and floral:ÿA straight rye whiskey from 95 percent rye and 5 percent barley malt.
Smoky:ÿA blended malt Scotch whiskey, made of 100-percent barley malt that has been peated.
Age of the whiskies: all are 5 years or older.
Source of the whiskies? The bourbon and rye are from the old Seagrams plant in Indiana.

Aroma:ÿFloral, fruity, bright and spicy. Caramel and butterscotch. Light smoke and smoldering wood from a campfire the morning after. Jasmine, chai tea, sandalwood, leather, tobacco, pine resin and toasted bread.
Palate:ÿVanilla, honey, toffee with some nice fruit, blueberries and black cherries. Chai spices - nutmeg, cinnamon and orange zest. Salty caramels. Tobacco. Gentle smoke!
Finish:ÿLong, sweet, spicy, and smoky!

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?
Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

Saver shipping (where available) may take 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, with delivery typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

Carriers will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

Additional delivery attempts may require an extra delivery fee.

Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and all shipping charges.
4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?
Yes. Many of our products are fragile and heat-sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at our discretion.

6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?
Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.

7. What is your return policy?
Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.

If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, we will refund or replace it. Please email hello@forwhiskeylovers.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.
