Perched in the hills of Northwest Oregon, Ransom Distillery sits on a forty acre farm just outside Sheridan and is surrounded by grapevines and barley plants. The distillery, named after the funds it took to get it open, is owned and operated by Tad Seestedt. “I had always wanted to start my own business,” Seestedt says, “and I thought that Ransom was an appropriate name in that its definition is buying your freedom or independence with money. The money I had to borrow from the bank to start the business was my Ransom.”
Henry DuYore’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey to be an ultra premium American Whiskey that fits within the boundaries of the Bourbon category: a mash bill of greater than 51% corn and an aging program of at least two years in new Bourbon barrels but with a greater than usual influence from the rye, and a liberal amount of barley to give greater viscosity and weight to the palate. Longer aging and a unique finishing program utilizing French oak barrels lend additional complexity to the whiskey.
Ransom Spirits’ Henry DuYore’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash of approximately 56% corn, 31% rye and 13% barley. After the grains are milled, mashed and fermented, the wash is distilled in small batches inside a 300-gallon Pruehlo Cognac copper pot still. The still’s unique shape and size allows the bourbon to retain deeper aromas and more texture as compared to ordinary stills.
After distillation, the bourbon is aged inside new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in French oak casks. The French oak finishing process lends an additional layer of complexity to the bourbon — French oak is highly prized since it is loosely grained and more porous than American oak, allowing it to impart more flavor and tannins to whiskey that it contacts. While federal regulations mandate that straight bourbon be aged for a minimum of two years, Henry DuYore’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey is aged for a minimum of four years. After aging, the bourbon is brought to proof and each bottle is filled, labeled and sealed by hand.
Named after a reformed moonshiner, Henry DuYoure’s Bourbon has notes of sweet, yellow corn that are nicely balanced by the spicy rye. In addition, the liberal amount of barley in the bourbon’s mashbill adds viscosity and depth, while the barrel notes provide for a subtle undertone of dried fruit, honey and toffee. The bourbon earned a score of 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, which named it one of the Top 50 Spirits of 2013.
This distinctive blend yields a whiskey that is somewhere between Bourbon, Rye, and an unpeated Single Malt. This is a whiskey that at once embodies and expands the great American whiskey category.

Delivery
2.1. For Whiskey Lovers offers delivery services to specified locations that we are legally eligible to ship to. Delivery times may vary depending on your location and other factors. We will provide an estimated delivery time-frame, but we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates or times.
2.2. You acknowledge that the delivery of alcoholic beverages requires the recipient to be of legal drinking age. Our delivery personnel may request proof of age upon delivery. If the recipient is unable to provide valid identification, the delivery will not be completed, and the products will be returned to For Whiskey Lovers.
2.3. Delivery fees and any applicable taxes or duties will be added to the total order amount. These charges will be clearly displayed during the checkout process.
2.4. For Whiskey Lovers operates within the legal framework of the jurisdiction in which it operates. However, it is your responsibility as the customer to ensure compliance with all applicable local, regional, and national laws regarding the purchase, possession, and shipment of alcoholic beverages.
2.5. 2.6. For Whiskey Lovers reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order if it believes that the shipment would violate any applicable laws or regulations. In such cases, For Whiskey Lovers will notify you and provide a refund for the canceled order, minus any applicable fees or charges.
Returns and Refunds
3.1. For Whiskey Lovers takes great care in packaging and delivering your order to ensure its quality and condition. In the event that you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect products, please contact our customer support within seven (7) days of delivery to request a return or exchange.
3.2. Refunds or replacements will be processed at For Whiskey Lovers' discretion after evaluating the nature of the issue. We may request additional information or photographic evidence to facilitate the return process.
3.3. For Whiskey Lovers reserves the right to refuse returns or refunds for reasons including but not limited to a change of mind, personal taste preference, or improper storage of the products after delivery.
3.4. For Whiskey Lovers does not offer refunds or returns on international shipments.
