Crafted on the rugged coasts of Scotland, Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Blended Malt Scotch Whisky showcases the untamed character of Island malts matured for over a decade in refill American oak hogsheads. The whisky undergoes a final maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, including an in-house Solera system, lending a nuanced richness that elevates the natural maritime smokiness of the blend. This dual maturation technique tempers the peat while layering in complex, sherried depth.
The nose greets with soft peat smoke laced with dried fruits, spiced oak, and a whisper of sea brine. On the palate, bold phenolic notes mingle with flavors of raisins, cinnamon, and dark chocolate, seamlessly balanced by sherry sweetness and oak spice.
