Abasolo El Whisky De Mexico is crafted and distilled from 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle (kaka ? wha ? SINT ? lay) corn, a locally grown GMO-free variety that has been passed down by moreÿthan 200 generations of local farmers, chosenÿfor its thick, textured kernels, which provided the boldest flavors. This corn only grows at more than 7,000 feet above sea level and is found exclusively in elevated valleys throughout the States of Mexico, Tlaxcala and Puebla. Cacahuazintle has large, bulky kernels and is typically used to make pozole, esquites and corn bread when the corn is tender.

These flavors are further drawn out by a 4,000-year-old traditional process called nixtamalization, in which the corn is soaked and cooked in an alkaline solution (usually a lime bath), washed and then hulled. Commonly used before corn is ground into masa and made into tortillas or other Mexican staples, nixtamalization which removes many impurities and vastly improves the flavours and aromas of the ancient crop.ÿ

The whiskey is double distilled in handcrafted copper pot stills, and aged in new toasted and used oak casks. The 86-proof spirit ? made in copper pot stills and aged in oak ? is pale gold, has a toasty aroma and some honeyed sweetness that tames the alcohol.

Abasolo Mexican Whisky Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Softly vanilla-forward, with hints of popcorn underneath, followed by juicy peach and pear.

Palate: Cinnamon sweeties, toasted cedar, another helping of buttery popcorn and a hint of brown sugar.

Finish: Fruity notes appear again on the finish, plus a kick of white pepper.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?
