George Remus era un abogado nacido en Alemania conocido como el Rey de los contrabandistas. Aunque se formó como farmacéutico y luego se convirtió en abogado, encontró su éxito como contrabandista cuando encontró una laguna (o dos) en la Ley Volstead para fabricar bourbon con "fines médicos".
