Blue Run Spirits
Under the Watchful Eye and Masterful Palatte of Jim Rutledge
Blue Run Spirits was founded as an ideal. They wanted to create a super-premium bourbon that tasted so rich and smooth it would entice a new generation of enthusiasts, as well as satisfy the most discerning aficionado.
The banks of Kentucky’s Royal Spring — what cofounder Jesse McKnight called the “Blue Run” as a kid — with its pure, limestone-filtered water, seemed like the perfect place to start. After all, as the birthplace of bourbon in 1789, the Blue Run is steeped in more than two centuries of distilling history.
And now, it’s where bourbon is being reborn.
Jim Rutledge, formerly Master Distiller of Four Roses Distillery, is an advisor for the distillery and is part of the distilling team.
