Hirsch The Horizon Straight Bourbon Tasting Notes:
Color: Deep amber/burnt ochre.
Aroma: Initially hints of a sour mash that blends with a bit of lemon scented nail polish remover, followed by vanilla bean scones with a sugary glaze.
Mouthfeel: soft, but has a spicy burn from the rye.
Palate: a bit sour, with the vanilla bean from the nose lingering with the faintest amount of oak. Rye spices are distinctive with nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and allspice. It has a slight harshness that doesn’t overpower the whiskey.
Finish: long and warming
