It's been a while since I tried the Eagle Rare (I stuffed it into a corner of my wine cellar). I'll do what I can from memory though. The woodford is a softer whiskey with a more subtle attack. where I wouldn't drink the Eagle Rare and enjoy it, I can drink the Woodford. I recall the Eagle having a big cherry kind of overlay that I also found in the Maker's Mark. If you like Maker's you will likely enjoy the Eagle, however if you found the maker's a little to much I would then suggest the woodford. with all that said I do not have to much experience with bourbon's so take what I say with a grain of salt (or an ice cude, whichever you prefer). The Eagle Rare is a single barrel and stronger in alcohol. I have had them all including Makers Mark. I prefer the Eagle Rare, then Makers Mark, then Woodford, but I prefer very heavy flavors. I have never had them in the same tasting and that can be misleading too.
