Created by a collaboration between the Bodegas Lustau and the Midleton Distillery, Redbreast Sherry Finish Lustau is the result of several years’ work by Billy Leighton, Master Blender at Irish Distillers, and the recently deceased Manuel Lozano, the winemaker who earned Lustau its international prestige in the last two decades.
Redbreast Lustau is first aged in traditional bourbon and sherry casks for a period of 9-12 years, when the spirits is then finished for 1 additional year in first fill hand selected oloroso sherry butts from the prestigious Bodegas Lustau in Jerez Spain. This further step provides a unique personality, marked by notes of red fruit, prunes, marzipan, a creamy mouthfeel and a long, sweet finish.
Redbreast Lustau Tasting Notes:
Nose: Toasted almond, Curaçao orange peel studded with clove and slowly growing notes of juicy sultanas.
Palate: Milk chocolate and honey (almost a bit Crunchie-like), cinnamon, walnut and poached plum.
Finish: Apple turnovers and crushed cinnamon.
