The Macallan Estate is the Whisky Maker's tribute to the Macallan's heritage and home. Containing rare spirit from the distillery's precious estate-grown barley, The Macallan Estate delivers a subtle hint of citrus which balances the traditional sherried richness, resulting in a complex single malt with an extraordinary long finish.
To produce the whiskey, The Macallan used barley that is grown in the fields on The Macallan Estate, and is selected for its unique character and is reserved for their most exclusive editions.
Initially launched for the travel retail market, this stunning Macallan is made in refill sherry hogsheads, and is bottled at 45.7% abv.
This is an extremely rare release: the spirit is made using the Estate Barley is distilled just once a year, over a single week.
Aroma: Whiffs of sherry, sweet Olosoro, pepper, berries, leather and cedar.
Palate: Spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, rich sherry, cocoa, coffee beans and caramel.
Finish: Long, lingering hints of citrus, potpourri, malt, berries, toasted walnuts, almond oil.
