Opportunities like this don't come along every day. For the first time in its 175 year history, Glengoyne Distillery has released its oldest, most valuable and finest Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky: the Glengoyne 40 Years Old. Unlike most other distilleries, Glengoyne has been preserving the essence of its whisky's flavor for decades by using air-dried barley rather than barley dried using harsh peat smoke. The result is a more subtle, complex whisky in which all of the delicate flavors are freely allowed to express themselves. This natural strength Limited Edition Single Malt is displayed in an elegant Glencairn crystal decanter, housed in a solid oak presentation box. The lacquered, piano finished, solid oak presentation box features gold plates on the front and a hand-stitched cream leather interior. An outer leather carry case and cloth bag further protect your investment. Individually numbered, the elegant hand blown decanter is produced by independent, Scottish, family business Glencairn Crystal and features an engraving of the award winning Glengoyne Distillery. Together, the Glengoyne Limited Edition 40 Years Old Highland Single Malt and elegant crystal decanter come in a magnificent presentation box and traditionally bound book, signed by the Distillery Manager Robbie Hughes. The whisky was distilled in November 1968 and bottled in 2009. There and there are exactly 250 available worldwide.
