Basketball champion and MVP Stephen Curry recently entered the whiskey game with his launch of Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
A statement from the new whiskey brand noted that this new expression was released globally at The Boone County Distilling Co. just after its inaugural bottling.
“Celebrations take on many different forms, from intimate gatherings to major milestones, and at the center of each memorable moment is a spirit rooted in history and tradition,” Curry said, in his prepared statement. “I’m proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Gentleman’s Cut.”

Curry is a four-time champion for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors. He said that he was involved in every step of the whiskey-making process, from the manufacturing, blending and aging to the packaging and marketing efforts. The whiskey’s label even has a personal message from him.
The distiller’s notes show that Gentleman’s Cut was made in 500-gallon copper pot stills, then aged five to seven years in charred new white oak barrels. The result is a whiskey with flavors of cinnamon, seared caramel and sweet toasted chestnut.
The bourbon itself is distilled, aged and bottled by Game Changer Distillery in Boone County, Kentucky. Curry’s business, SC30 Inc., partnered with John Schwartz in a joint venture with Boone County Distilling Co.
Located on the Kentucky Craft Bourbon Trail, Boone County Distilling is a grain-to-glass operation.
“In close collaboration with Stephen, we produced a high-quality aged bourbon offered at a great value that will resonate with bourbon connoisseurs and help grow the craft bourbon category to our global audience,” Schwartz said.
Gentleman’s Cut has a suggested retail price of $79.99 per 750ml bottle. For more information, check out www.gentlemanscutbourbon.com.
