Edition No.2 highlights the diverse story of The Macallan’s unequalled obsession with its oak casks. Following the successful release of Edition No.1 in The Macallan Editions Series, Edition No.2 is the second release in this annual limited edition series, and continues the theme of co-creation and craftsmanship in the Edition Series, satisfying demand for collectability at an affordable price point.
COLLABORATING WITH THE ROCA BROTHERS of SPAIN
The Macallan Edition No. 2 is the result of a close collaboration with Macallan Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and the Roca brothers, cofounders of El Celler de Can Roca (Spain), twice voted best restaurant in the world. Aged in European and American oak casks, this limited edition expression reflects the flavors chosen by these four masters to exemplify their distinctive personalities in the resulting whisky. Each of the four cocreators selected four different cask suppliers in Spain to materialize these flavors.
Bob Dalgarno selected the Tevasa cask, which imparts dried fruit and sherry notes.
Sommelier Joseph Roca, chose Jose Miguel martin casks with spicy ginger notes.
Head Chef Joan Roca picked the rich green wood and toffee flavors of the Diego Martin casks.
And Jordi Roca, the pastry chef, hand picked the light vanilla and citrus notes of the Vasyma American Oak casks.
By bringing together the art of whisky making with the creative culinary genius of the Roca brothers, this single malt exceeds the conventional norm and challenges expectations.
