The only flask of its kind, this stainless steel flask is wrapped in authentic reclaimed bourbon barrel wood and finished with nomadic buffalo leather.
Just think, just a few months ago this reclaimed bourbon barrel wood was sitting atop a Distillery Rickhouse aging to perfection some excellent Kentucky Bourbon. The wood originated as American White Oak harvested from the foothills of the Ozark's before Cooperage artisans converted the raw wood into virgin Oak barrels for the sole purpose of aging distilled bourbon. After completion of the bourbon aging process and emptying of the bourbon barrel, they were reclaimed and the barrel staves up-cycled into these beautiful flasks. You can appreciate the heritage of the wood and clearly see where the Iron Hoop Rings held the staves together as the barrel perfected its contents.
The front side features the classic look of the reclaimed bourbon barrel while the back is made using the toasted charred inside of the barrel. During the cooperage process the inside of the white oak barrel was charred for approximately one minute in order to allow the clear alcohol to interact with the unique chemistry of the wood, ultimately producing the tones and tastes of the finished bourbon.
